From Mathew Jwantu, Minna.
A Nigerian Cleric, Rev. Luther Daman of Church of Christ In Nations (COCIN) LCC Minna, has said for federal government to address unemployment in the country, it must encourage saving and investment among youths.
This will ultimately encourage entrepreneurship thus reducing overdependence on government, Daman said at the grand finale of ten years anniversary of COCIN Youth Fellowship Camp where youths are occasionally trained on vocational skills every year among other programs.
Speaking on ‘financial intelligence’, guest speaker at the occasion, Pastor Longji Danbok said most youths are poor because they lack saving and investment culture.
Danbok lamented that most parents are contributing to the poor saving and investment culture of their children.
The guest speaker, who is an author of seven books explained that, “the secret of wealth lies in the ability and thinking faculty of an individual to multiplying money at any given opportunity.”
“You see, the greatest mistake most peoples made always is that, they are waiting until they get big money before the think of investment. But the fact is that, if you cannot invest the little you have, then don’t try it on big amount because you will definitely going yo crash”. He explained
Also speaking, Pastor Jidina Bot insisted that Nigerian youths are seriously distracted by the fun in social media instead of taking advantage of it for profitable ventures.
