Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State says Nigerian military deserve public love and support.
The nation’s Armed Forces, Lalong said have sacrificed so much for the safety of the country.
At the ceremonial laying of wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier, marking the country’s armed forces remembrance day, the Governor advised citizens to refrain from condemning the military for errors observed in the cause of their duties.
Lalong said, “let us continue to support our armed forces who are still in active service through every means as they deserve our love. We should avoid condemning them over challenges that could arise in the cause of their duties.
“They are selfless and have done a lot to restore security in many areas particularly in Plateau State. We are grateful for their contributions and continue to pray for their souls to rest in peace”.
Lalong assured that the State will keep supporting the Nigerian legion members and their families through empowerment and related programs.
The Governor later attended a reception at the Rhino Officers Mess of the Maxwell Khobe cantonment, Rukuba barracks.
