Supporters of the Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima Presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress in Plateau State have been thrown into a state of frenzy following the release of the duo’s campaign council list which shows their fair representation.
Many have taken to social media to celebrate the appointment of members of the newly constituted campaign council from the State.
At least 18 people from the State were appointed into the Tinubu/Shettima council.
The 422-man campaign list released on 19 October shows the Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong leading the State’s representatives as the Director General of the council.
Lalong leads with Mr. Nentawe Yilwada, the APC Gubernatorial candidate in the State who appears as the State Coordinator.
Mr. Joseph Ari, the Director General of the Industrial Training Fund is listed as a Deputy Director at the Finance Department.
A member of the House of Representatives from Mikang, Komsol Alphonsus appears as Secretary of the North Central Directorate while a former aspirant for the House of Reps, Ayuba Burki Gufwan leads persons with disabilities alongside Mr. James Lalu who is the serving Executive Secretary of the National Disability Rights Commission.
Two of Lalong’s youngest appointees – Haggai Gutap and David Daser have been appointed as Deputy Director of Support Groups and Assistant Secretary ICT and Data Management Department respectively.
Other appointees include two former Commissioners in Lalong’s cabinet – Jerry Werr and Tamwakat Weli, a former APC youth aspirant – Maxwell Gowon and a former House of Assembly aspirant – Peter Timkat.
Others are Basir Musa Sati, a State APC official, Pam Dung Gyang, Lalong’s former campaign Director General, Moses Tapgun, Isa Rabiu falala, Emmanuel Tongak, Jerry Manwe and Auwal Abdullahi.
The Director General of the State’s Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Fabong Jemchang wrote on Facebook in the Nigerian pidgin English: “Na person wey Sabi road, we dey follow” meaning “We only support competent leaders”.
A political activist, Mahmoud Abubakar also posted praising Governor Lalong for leading as many citizens into national politics.
“Special thanks to our dear Governor and DG Hon Simon bako lalong for taking these sons and daughters of plateau State to the national politics,” he wrote on Facebook.
Celebrating himself, Mr. Peter Timkat wrote “I will do my best to perform the responsibilities given to me as Member of Contact and Mobilization Committee as well as Member of National Youth Mobilization Committee.”
