Nigeria’s Deputy Senate Committee Chairman on Defense, Istifanus Gyang has appealed to local and foreign governments to ‘quickly’ rescue three Boko Haram hostages from his State.

A 20years old University Student from his constituency, Miss Lilian Daniel Gyang, was, according to him, abducted on January 9, 2020, less than three weeks after another constituent, Jennifer Ukambong Samuel was kidnapped by the terrorists.

Jennifer, 26, a health worker from Makoli village in Gashish District, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, along Monguno- Maiduguri road was kidnapped on December 22, 2019.

She was kidnapped weeks after a Primary Healthcare worker with Kanam Local Government Council, Mr. Abdulhamid Bashir was snatched.

Lilian, a 100level Zoology student of University of Maiduguri, who hails from Foron District in Barkin Ladi LGA was taken on her way to school from the Christmas holiday.

Senator Gyang’s in a press statement from his media Officer, Musa Ashoms feared a repeat of the fate of two male Christian aid workers from Plateau who were executed in October 2019 by Boko Haram.

The Senator was sure that Leah Sharibu, the remaining Chibok girls and others held hostage will regain freedom “if government becomes more responsive and purposeful in securing their release and ultimately, defeating the Boko Haram insurgency”.
