Senate Vice Defence Chair to hike allocations to Plateau Federal Colleges in 2020 budget

Nigeria’s Deputy Senate Committee Chairman on Defense, Istifanus Gyang, on Friday vowed to ensure adequate allocations in next year’s budget for the National Veterinary Research Institute (NVRI), Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology (FCAHPT) as well as Federal College of Veterinary and Medical Laboratory Technology (FCV&MLT) all located in Vom, Jos South LGA, Plateau State.

The institutions are leading authorities in the training of manpower for the nation’s health sector, Sen. Gyang said.

The import of his visit was to build synergy with the colleges for the good of the nation, he said.

The Senator representing Plateau North in the National Assembly however cautioned the institutions against violating the Federal Character provision of the constitution in their staff appointments to avoid sanctions.
