Sen. ID Gyang gets national honour for constituency development

The Senator representing Plateau North in the Nigerian National Assembly, Istifanus Gyang has been crowned “Champion of Constituency Performance of the Year” by Excellent Leadership for Sustainable Development and Good Governance, a local nongovernmental organization.

The award, Thursday, at the International Conference Centre Abuja was according to organizers in recognition of the Senator’s constituency performance on while in the House of Reps.

The event Chaired by former Governor of Anambra state, Chief Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife is summarized by Hon. Musa Ashoms, Sen. Gyang’s Special Assistant on Media and protocol as follows:

Senator I.D. Gyang a golden fish that is doing us proud

The proverbial golden fish has no hiding place appears to have its utmost definition on Barrister Istifanus D. Gyang, Senator representing the glorious people of Plateau North and Deputy Chairman Senate Committee on Defence who has been bestowed an award as “the champion of Constituency Performance of the Year” by Excellent Leadership for Sustainable Development and Good Governance at the International Conference Centre Abuja on Thursday 29th August, 2019.

The award to the organizers is in recognition of Distinguished Senator I.D. Gyang’s performance on Constituency projects from his tenure in the Green Chamber that has transited to the Red Chamber.

In addition “the award is to encourage leaders who are doing good in their various fields of endeavours”.
The occasion was chaired by an elder statesman Chief Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife the former Governor of old Anambra state. In his remarks, he cited and quoted from the Russian /Chechnya war where Russian women rose against the war to end the killing of Chechnya youths, saying,”… They too have mothers…”
if you find any people being killed, ostracized or marginalized, we should feel for them because, they too have mothers”. He reiterated that the concept should be replicated in Nigeria’s present situation.

The Distinguished Senator was not alone as he was ably accompanied by his darling wife Mrs. Rahila Gyang and daughter. The Hon Musa Bagos member Representing Jos South /Jos East in whom the people are well pleased was also in the entourage of the Senator alongside teeming supporters from all walks of life from Plateau state.

Dist Senator I.D.Gyang took time to talk on how to come out strong from adversity. He spoke on his determination to use the opportunity, confidence and mandate the people of Plateau North Senatorial district have offered to him to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the zone and engender good governance to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
