Security: Plateau seeks experience from Ex Army Official, Dogonyaro

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State, Saturday appealed to Ex Military Spokesman, Lt. Gen. Joshua Dogonyaro (rtd) to avail his “wealth of experience and knowledge” as Government in the State and country, works “assiduously” to fight insurgency, banditry, kidnapping and other crimes.

Dogonyaro’s “outstanding” achievements and “gallantry” during his military career have continued to inspire younger officers and men “to commit to the defence of Nigeria’s territorial integrity as well as ensuring its peace, unity and prosperity in the face of daunting challenges”, said Lalong in a message congratulating the former military officer on his 80th birthday.

The Governor in the message signed by his press Director, Makut Macham praised Dogonyaro’s “immense role” in the development of the Nigerian Army especially when he served as ECOMOG Field Commander in Liberia.

Lalong was however saddened by the death of Air Vice Marshal Paul Nungkopba Dimfwina.

Governor Lalong in a condolence message through the Plateau State Liaison Officer in Abuja Mr. Pius Yenshi, said the Air Force Chief’s death is “very big loss” to his family, Plateau State and Nigeria as a whole.

The Governor described the deceased as a “dedicated” airforce officer who untill his death was the Chief of Information and Communication Systems at the Nigerian Airforce Headquarters.
