Rep Maren to dish 4000 textbooks, 200 scholarships, others

Nigerian House of Reps Member, Hon. Solomon Maren will next week launch his first empowerment program for the year 2020.

The program comprises 4000 Secondary School Maths and English textbooks, N2million worth of scholarships and 150 water pump machines.

Mangu and Bokkos Local Government Areas that make up the constituency are expected to get 2000 of the already purchased textbooks each.

Likewise, 100 students from each of the LGAs will get N10,000 as educational support.

75 farmers from each LGAs will equally receive irrigation machines, MK gathers.

Hon. Maren had in 2016 and 2017 dished over 200 motor bikes and irrigation machines in addition to over 500 business grants.

Within the same period, he funded mass medical treatment for over 4000 constituents, which he repeated in 2018.

Medical equipment worth millions of naira were equally given to Mangu and Bokkos General Hospitals within the year 2017.

In 2018, another set of over 100 women and youths got N30,000 business grants aside from motor bikes given to vigilante and other selected groups.

He was also reputed to have sponsored over 20 bills during his first tenure in the House of Reps.

This perhaps accounted for his reelection in the 2019 General election despite alleged irregularities that saw the ruling APC clearing most elective seats in the State.

So far, the Rep member has sponsored six bills with many more ready for presentation.

With his performance in the legislature, Maren is thought to be a potential Governorship candidate.

However, with the existing zoning arrangement in the State, observers are of the view that at least in the meanwhile, he would be better as a third-term legislator.
