Students of Northeastern Nigerian Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi, Saturday staged a protest, following the separate killing of two by drivers on high-speed.

Two students were Friday evening reportedly knocked down within a space of an hour at different locations, near the Polytechnic in Gwalameji.

The drivers did not attempt to escape after the incidents, but student leaders blocked the Tafawa Balewa – Bauchi road in protest on Saturday, it was learnt.

No case of violence has been confirmed but the protesting students are said to have burned tyres, stopping every vehicle driving along the road.

As of the time of publishing this report, Police were said to have arrived the scene to quell the protests.
