Plateau Village Chief, Sunday Akuns to donate Generators to remote STF stations

The Village Head of Mandung, a Central Nigerian community in Central Plateau State, Chief Sunday Akuns, says he will provide electric generators to Special Military Task Force stations in Bokkos Local Government Area to enable them power their communication devices for effective emergency response.

The donation will be strictly to stations in remote locations where electricity is absent, Akuns said.

“These people have left their homes, left their families and everything else to come here and ensure we have peace. They deserve our support,” said Akuns on Sunday at the finals of a “peace and unity” football tournament.

Akuns, a retired Director of the Nigerian Central Bank equally pledged branded jerseys for local football clubs.

He advised youths in the LGA to unite for peace and progress, saying “unity is the foundation of prosperity, unity is the foundation of humanity.”

A lead organizer of the tournament, Mr. Haruna Ladan and the Commander of the STF Sector 5, Col. S.I. Haruna presented an “award of excellence” to Mr. Akuns, lauding his contributions to peace and community development in the locality.
