The Senator representing Plateau North in the Nigerian National Assembly, Istifanus Gyang has asked law enforcements to “quickly” track down those attacking communities in Plateau State.
“President Buhari recently gave an order to the Military and Police to ensure that all bloodthirsty bandits across the nation are done away with.
“The STF and the Police should quickly enforce the Presidential order to arrest violent attacks on peace-loving citizens and communities in Plateau North,” said the Senator.
Gyang, the Deputy Senate Committee Chairman in a press statement signed by his Media and Protocol Officer, Mr. Musa Ashoms, condemned Tuesday’s killing of two people in Rubong Hamlet of Foron village, in Plateau’s Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.
The ‘criminals’ who rustled 100 cows and 120 sheep after killing the villagers are “enemies of peace and peaceful coexistence”, he said.
In his words, “Peaceful coexistence does not admit of crime and criminality. Criminals and bandits who trade in crime and bloodshed must face the wrath of the law so that the lives and property of law abiding citizens can be secured.”
While assuring of his resolve to secure, reconcile and empower his constituents, the lawmaker asked villagers” to be very vigilant against criminals and bandits whose actions constitute a threat to peace and peaceful coexistence.”
