Plateau Officials confirm attack at former Minister’s residence; say “manhunt” of criminals in progress

Police have began investigating Wednesday’s gun attack at the home of former Minister of Sports, Mr. Damishi Sango near Jos, the capital of Plateau State.
Mr. Sango’s home in Danwal village, Ganawuri District of Riyom area, was attacked on Wednesday night by gunmen believed to be bandits.
Chairman of Riyom Local Government, Mr. Mafeng Gwalson confirmed the report in a text message. “It is true; two persons at the hospital while one policeman was killed,” said the Official.
Police spokesperson in Plateau State, Mr. Gabriel Ogaba said the Police Command was aware of the incident, saying “The victims have been rushed to the hospital where they are receiving treatment.”
Earlier reports said two Policemen and a civilian were injured in the attack. Weapons used by the securities were also said to have been stolen. But Mr. Ogaba did not specify those details.
“I am not aware yet whether they were dispossessed of their rifles,” he said, but said investigations had started.
“CP just left the scene of crime. A team of detectives and intelligence officers have already commenced investigation and manhunt for the criminals,” said the Police spokesperson.
