Nigerian officials say the indefinite lockdown in Plateau State, remains from Monday to Thursday, till the coronavirus pandemic relaxes.

During the three-day lockdown break – Friday to Sunday however, movement from one local government to another will still be restricted, Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong said.

An 8pm to 6pm curfew shall still be observed, said Lalong, based on Federal directives.

The Governor in a press statement through his Press Director, Simon Macham, Thursday also said use of face masks in public places, as other restrictions remain “mandatory”.

“The requirements for use of sanitizers, hand washing, sanitation and hygiene shall continue to apply.

“All places of worship must adhere strictly to the gathering of not more than 50 persons while observing laid down regulations for sanitation and social distancing.

“Directives regarding closure of social joints, ban on festivals and anniversaries, street hawking and transport regulations remain in force,” said the statement.
