Officials in Plateau State say Wednesday’s clashes in Sumji village of Kanke Local Government Area were land-related.
MK had reported that the violence broke out due to a prolonged Chieftaincy tussle between two rival groups within the community.
An Official of Ngas Development Association who doubles as the Sumji community leader, Dr. Nengak Deshi however confirmed that the dispute was between Sumji and a neighboring community.
Local authorities were already networking to restore normalcy in the affected community, he said.
Troops had since Wednesday been mobilized to quell the violence, MK gathers.
No life has been confirm lost but several houses were said to have been razed during the clashes.
