Plateau: Infant, one other shot near Police Station

CENTRAL NIGERIA: Yet to be identified gunmen have shot two people including an infant near the Plateau State Divisional Police Headquarters, Mangu in Mangu Local Government Area.
Though details of the incident have yet to be obtained, the shooting, MK gathers occurred in the evening of Tuesday and lasted few minutes.
The infant whose name is yet to be verified is said to have survived with bullet wounds.
The other casualty, identified as Alh. Sa’adu Musa Julde reportedly died at the spot.
The Plateau State Secretary of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, Alh. Abdullahi Ardo confirms the deceased was the association’s Mangu Chapter Chairman.
Mr. Julde was a resident of Kasuwar Ali village in Gindiri, near the Plateau State College of Education Gindiri.
A PDP Chieftain and brother to former Senator Nasir Mantu, Hashimu Mantu was shot dead three days ago in the same locality.
It is not yet confirmed who the killers are and what their mission is.
A Police statement confirming the murder of the former Senator’s brother on Monday said no arrest was made but investigations were on to track the criminals.
Body of the slain Miyetti Allah leader is expected to be buried Wednesday morning after burial rites at the Mamgu Central Mosque.
