Plateau Governor visits fresh attack scene, pleads for forgiveness

The Plateau State Governor, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong on Thursday cancelled a planned tour of road projects to visit Kunben village in Kombun District of Mangu Local Government Area where unknown gunmen reportedly killed 13 people.

Lalong in company of the Deputy Governor, Prof. Sonny Tyoden, Operation Safe Haven Commander Gen. Augustine Agundu and other service chiefs in the State assured that security agencies were already working to unveil those behind the “heinous crime.”

The Governor appealed for calm and forgiveness.

He said, “what has happened is painful, but I am appealing to you for patience and forgiveness. Those behind this will be made to face the full weight of the law as we will not rest until they are caught and made to face justice”.
