Plateau: Bokkos Youths start peace networks after feeding, clothing IDPs

Youths in Central Nigeria might be building a strong peace and security network to avoid a repeat of recent attacks in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

A local interest group, Bokkos Advocacy Group (BAG) is currently consulting with peace agencies, civil and military authorities among among others to secure the acclaimed agricultural hub of the State.

Among officials that have received the group’s letters requesting a parley is the Plateau State Peace Building Agency and the Plateau State Commissioner of Police, MK learns.

BAG had two weeks ago delivered humanitarian aid to people displaced by the January 26 attacks in Kwatas District of Bokkos LGA.

Among items delivered were grains, clothes, beverages and toiletries among others.

The group according to officials – Mr. Aaron Maren and Victor Nafor was set up to contribute to local peace, security, political and economic advancement of the LGA.

It has so far organized summits and social gatherings in executing its objectives.
