The Director-General, National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Ibrahim Salisu has warned that henceforth, institutions found to have submitted names of unqualified candidates for the scheme will be blacklisted.
Many of such names were this year uploaded on the NYSC registration portal by institutions despite repeated warnings, Ibrahim said, Wednesday at the 2019 Batch ‘C’ pre-mobilization workshop in Minna, the capital of Niger State.
“This amounts to betrayal of trust,” he said.
Defaulting institutions will henceforth not just be blacklisted but exposed in the media, the NYSC boss stated.
The stance of the Scheme is in line with the Niger State Government’s quest for ethics and transparency in governance, the State Governor, Sani Bello said.
The Governor at the Workshop vowed to provide security and welfare to all corps members in the State for optimal performance.
The Niger State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Funmilayo Ajayi at the event applauded the support and “peaceful” environment enjoyed by the corps members in the state.
