Nigerians build machine that allows only people with facemasks into public buildings

A group of young innovators in Jos, Central Nigeria have built a machine that allows only people with facemasks into designated establishments.
The “Automated Disease Control System” has a facial recognition feature that reads and vocally instructs an incoming person to wear facemasks before accessing the door.
Once a facemask is detected, the system’s automated entry door slides open but remains shut when facemask is not detected.
Built by Mr. Williams Gyang and his friends Mr. Adebolajo Sunday and Mr. Nura Jibrin, the system is embedded with fully automated dusk-to-dawn lighting system, 24hour wireless closed-circuit TV recorders, automatic temperature test and body disinfecting system.
The noiseless system automatically sprays germ disinfectants on a person who must have been screened for facemasks and allowed into a glass chamber after taking temperature test.
Its automated exit door however remains closed after disinfection until one activates by using an automatic electronic hand sanitizer built in the disinfection chamber.
Other key features of the machine are flat walkway for persons with Disabilities, Automatic Cooling system, Wireless communication, low power consumption capacity and full fibre casing for easy mobility.
Gyang and Nura in April 2020 performed the first local rebuilding of broken ventilators in Nigeria. Their plans were to build local ventilators from scratch but were limited by finances.
The new disinfection chamber was built through bank loan but shows great prospects for business.
The system would be useful in banks, airports, hospitals, shopping malls and government establishments among others cautious of public disease transmissions.
