The complexities of modern warfare, Gyang said, Friday, require an upgrade of military hardware.

“The complexity of nonconventional warfare in combating terrorism, insurgency, banditry, violent attacks and displacement of communities has challenged the Nigerian Armed Forces.

“This calls for the upgrading of their combat capacity through appropriate training and right equiptment as canvassed several times through legislative resolutions of the National Assembly.

“Gyang, the Deputy Chairman of the Senate Committee on Defense said he was confident, that Nigerian military will end terrorism if supported.

“Senator Gyang is hopeful that the armed forces will, in 2021, decisively and successfully bring an end to insurgency in the North East, banditry in the North West and displacement of communities from their ancestral homes in the North Central Geo Political regions among other security challenges nationwide,” says a press release from the Senator’s media aide, Musa Ashoms.

Gyang saluted the courage and sacrifices of “fallen heroes” and serving personnel of the military to mark the nation’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day 2020.

The remembrance day, the Senator said calls for prayers by all citizens for the troops at the frontline.
