Niger: Female Corps members clinch top performance awards

The Nigerian National Youth Service Corps has awarded Dr. Ukechuku Nkamaka and Amina Zainab Ahmed, both females as best performing 2019 Batch A Corps members in Niger State.

Njamaka and Zainab, rated first and second respectively, facilitated the best rural Community Development projects during the Service year, officials say.

The two were trailed by Mr. Abubakar Ibrahim Ismail and Mr. Ngoke Anthony Ukechi on third and fourth positions respectively.

Eight other Corp members were sanctioned for violating NYSC laws.

Five of them will repeat the Service year while three will serve various extensions, Niger State Coordinator of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs Funmilayo Ajayi said, Friday during the 2019 Batch A Passing Out Parade.

Two others, Mrs. Funmilayo said lost their lives during the Service Year.

The State Government, however, was supportive in running scheme during the year, said Funmilayo.

Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello through the State Commissioner of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Emmanuel Umar at the event praised the scheme for contributing to the development of the state as well as sustaining peaceful coexistence and unity of the country.

The Secretary to the State Government SSG and Chairman, NYSC Governing Council, Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Matane urged the outgoing Corps members to remain patriotic and disciplined beyond the Service Year.
