The Senator representing Niger East Senatorial District in Niger State, Mohammed Sani says gunmen who killed dozens of civilians and military personnel in Shiroro Local Government Area on Sunday and Monday must be hunted down.

The gunmen believed to be bandits killed several civilians in Galkogo and Zumba communities on Sunday and killed over 20 members of a joint security Task Force on Monday in a Galkogo forest the next day.

The attacks, in the middle of a global medical crisis are “unfortunate, barbaric and sad,” says Senator Sani in a press Statement.

“I received with shock the attacks on Galkogo and Zumba on Sunday. It is really unfortunate, barbaric and sad that at a time when the entire world is bedeviled with the Coronavirus pandemic, some people are still in hell’s way trying to destroy the peace being enjoyed by the citizens,” he said.

He sympathized with victims of the attacks and pledged to explore all options to improve security in the Senatorial zone.
