NGF pained as Ex Sokoto Governor, Buratai’s mother pass

Nigeria’s Northern Governors Forum says the passing former civilian Governor of the old Sokoto State, Dr. Garba Nadama and Mrs. Hauwa Yusuf Buratai, mother to Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Yusuf Tukur Buratai is “great loss” to Nigeria.

Mrs. Buratai’s death, Chairman of NGF, Simon Lalong said comes at a time the Army Chief is devoting his career and energy to the fight against terrorism, banditry and other crimes threatening Nigeria’s territorial integrity.

Mr. Nadama on the other hand was not only a “great historian”, but a “major source of inspiration and institutional capacity building for Governance in Nigeria,” Lalong said in a press statement through his Press Director, Simon Macham, Thursday.

Lalong prayed for comfort on the mourning families and the repose of the souls of the deceased.
