NDLEA Borno nabs ‘notorious’ drug Baron

The National Drug law Enforcement agency NDLEA Borno State command has arrested a notorious drug Baron responsible for lots of cartel activities in the state.

The Baron whose identity was concealed for security reasons has been charged to court even as the command declared another Ilya Musa alias Kwada wanted for a similar offense.

Ilya has since been on the run from the state and a man hunt has been declared for him to be fished from any part of the country.

NDLEA state commander Joe Icha said that one conviction was secured from the Federal High Court Maiduguri division while several other cases are pending concerning eighty two male suspects arrested during the month of January.

Commander Icha noted that eighty one drug users were counselled and were successfully treated and handed over to their families within the month under review.

Four addicts were quarantined and were admitted to undergo resident counselling in the commands drug counselling unit in Maiduguri.

Meanwhile, a total of 15.937kg of assorted illicit substances made up of 12.420 of cannabis and 3.517kgs of psychotropic substances were seized and withdrawn from circulation during the period under review.
