Police in Central Nigeria will begin impounding cars with unlicensed tinted glasses and covered car plates in two weeks.

Private individuals and politicians, government officials included, using such vehicles pose threats to the fight against kidnapping and other violent crimes, Plateau State Police Public Relations Officer, Tyopev Terna said, Thursday.

“Kidnappers, armed bandits and other criminals could disguise using these antics to beat security at checkpoints,” Terna said in a statement.

The clamp down according to the Force spokesman begins on Thursday, 10th October, 2019 across Plateau State.
