Kidnap suspect nabbed at ransom collection point

The Niger State Command of the Nigeria Service Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, has arrested one Mr. Mohammed Lawali for allegedly threatening to kidnap a staff of the Suleja Emir’s palace.
Lawali, 25 had threatened to kidnap Mr. Salisu Saidu until he paid a N2million ransom, Niger NSCDC Public Relations Officer, Nasir Abdullahi told journalists.
After negotiations, the suspect reportedly agreed to a N200,000 bank deposit but was arrested when he went to withdraw.
The Kebbi born Sokoto native has confessed to the crime and will be arraigned soon, the NSCDC spokesman said.
Meanwhile, the State NSCDC has warned against fake appointment letters being issued by fraudsters to desperate job seekers.
Commandant of the Corps, Geoge Edem told Journalists that some of the unsuspecting victims had approached the Command with the fake letters for training and documentation.
