Karl Kumm, ANAN Universities in Jos get operational licenses weeks after federal approval

Karl Kumm University, Jos, has been issued “provisional license” for the commencement of academic activities by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
The Church of Christ in Nations, COCIN owned University was issued the operational license on Thursday in Abuja, along with ANAN University, also located near Jos six weeks after the Federal Executive Council approved their establishment. 20 other private Universities approved by the Federal Executive Council in February were also issues operational licenses.
Executive Secretary of NUC, Prof. Abubakar Abdulrasheed told the new Universities to adhere to operational guidelines provided by the Commission. The Universities, Abubakar said will work under the mentorship of older universities.
Newly approved ANAN University Kwall, Plateau state will along with Karl Kumm university be under the mentorship of University of Jos, the NUC boss said.
The licenses were presented to Proprietors of the new universities by the Honorable Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, through the Minister of State for Education Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiubia.
KKU’s license was received by the COCIN president, Rev. Dr. Dachollom Datiri, as Proprietor.
