Jos, Nigeria: Yet to be identified gunmen on Thursday kidnapped a 55year-old resident of Lamingo in Jos, the capital of Plateau State.

Mr. Gamaliel Tumaka was kidnapped from his residence along with a pregnant woman, family sources say.

The kidnappers, armed with AK47 rifles demanded the whereabouts of his son and wife before taking him.

The two were hiding within the house but Mr. Tumaka claimed ignorance, it was learnt.

Observers believe the kidnappers may have been attracted by the sendoff ceremony of Mr. Tumaka’s daughter held last Friday.

The kidnap may have caused severe shock for the daughter, Miss Faith whose wedding comes this Saturday.

She was rushed to the Jos University Teaching Hospital after she collapsed during the kidnap.

The kidnappers have yet to contact the family for any ransom.
