Jos: Gunmen kill businessman, flea to Police Station

Police in Central Nigeria have arrested two suspects in connection to the murder of a businessman in Jos, the capital of Plateau State, Mr. Chinedu Okoye.
Mr. Okoye, 38 was shot to death on Friday, at about 1120hrs GMT by armed men suspected to be cultists in Abdul Salam Street, Chorbe, Jos.
Detectives who were alerted to the shooting immediately apprehended Mr. Lawal Aliyu, 40, and Mr. Ezeala Augustine, 26 who was in one of the tricycles used for the crime, Officials say.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Plateau State, Mr. Tyopev Terna said in a press statement that efforts were on to arrest other fleeing suspects.
A similar attack had occured on Tuesday where suspected cultists shot a former Taraba Football Club player, Mr. Ugwu Efu in Jos, the capital of Plateau State.
Ayaya as Mr. Ugwu is fondly called was shot in the thigh in Apata, Jos North Local Government Area when the gunmen came shooting in the streets at about 6pm local time.
Ugwu, 30 is thought to have been among a group of youths that last two weeks mobbed a member of the gang for allegedly stealing a phone in the area.
A similar shooting was reported near Jos Polo Club, same day at about 11am.
A local vulcanizer identified as Mr. Adaga was injured when he ran into a speeding vehicle while trying to escape.
Eyewitnesses say Mr. Adaga sustained multiple fractures as the vehicle ran over him in an obvious attempt to equally escape the shooting.
