The Senator representing Plateau North in the Nigerian National Assembly, Istifanus Gyang says Wednesday’s release of Miss Jennifer Ukanbong Samuel, a Plateau-born health worker along with four other Boko Haram hostages is “cheering”.
This is particularly as it comes few days after he amplified the call for her release.
The Senator in a press statement through his spokesman, Musa Ashoms on Thursday applauded the Department of State Securities, the Police and Joint military Task Force in the Northeast for facilitating the release.
He equally commended the media, Jennifer’s employers, Alliance for International Medical Action, ALIMA and all those who contributed toward her release.
Gyang however hoped that other citizens still in Boko Haram captivity will equally be freed.
The Senator particularly called for the speedy rescue of Miss Lilian Gyang, a Plateau student of University of Maiduguri and the famed Leah Sharibu.
