International Women’s Day: NGO moves for women’s independence

A Central Nigerian nongovernmental organization, Julz Changing Faces Initiative, Sunday marked the 2020 international women’s day with series of calls for women to “stand tall”.

“The more you develop yourself, the more valuable you become in the market,” said the founder of the NGO, Juliana Ali in a press statement.

Women in her words are “those who stand strong and faithful when needed, those who quietly move on, those who build empires, move mountains, push boundaries, raise babies, make memories and refuse to take no for an answer.”

“You are the ones paving the way for the new generation…stand tall and proud for all that you are,” Ms. Ali said.

The NGO in marking the day organized road walk and school rally to raise awareness for a “gender-equal world”.

The staff and students of Girl Child Education Center, Gada Biu, Jos where the rally held shared experiences and ideas on how to improve gender response in the society.
