The Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong has condoled with Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, a prominent Islamic scholar and leader of the Tijjaniyya Movement in Nigeria over the demise of his wife, Aishatu Tahir Usman Bauchi.
Lalong in a statement through his Press and Public Affairs Officer, Makut Simon Macham described as a ‘huge’ loss, the death of the scholar’s wife.
“The Northern Governors share in the pain and grief of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, his family and the entire Tijjaniya Movement as her death has created a vacuum that will be difficult to fill,” Lalong said.
The legacies of love and care for the needy created by the deceased, the NGF boss said will be cherished through history.
Governor Lalong also mourning a Plateau elder statesman and community leader, Alh. Alhassan Shuaibu said the State has lost an asset.
The former Permanent Secretary in the Plateau State civil service and Board Member, NNPC passed away on Monday after a protracted illness.
Governor Lalong was represented at the deceased’s burial in Nigeria’s capital Abuja, by a delegation led by the Secretary to the Government of Plateau State Prof. Danladi Abok Atu.
The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Hon. Idris Ahmed Wase was also among several sympathizers at the funeral.
Governor Lalong had visited the late Alhaji Alhassan at his residence in Abuja on 7th January, shortly after he was discharged from the hospital.
