Four-time Governor, Jonah Jang, ‘father’ in Nigerian politics – Senator1 min read
Former Plateau State Governor, Jonah Jang remains Nigeria’s most influential politician, serving Senator Istifanus Gyang says.
Jang, having been military administrator and civilian Governor twice has enjoyed “Divine opportunity above any other” politician, Gyang told journalists on Saturday.
With that, Jang “paid his dues,” becoming a respected “leader and elder statesman,” said Gyang who represents Plateau North in the Nigerian Senate.
“He’s a father and leader, a mentor and one that has paid his dues as far as this nation is concerned.
“He’s an elder statesman, one that God gave the opportunity above any other to govern more than four states in this country and serve at the senate.
“He’s one that has demonstrated strong passion for this nation and is interested in the upcoming generations,” the Senator said.
To have such a person as ‘father’ therefore, Gyang said is both a privilege and a blessing.
