Jos, Nigeria: 29/8/2021: Family sources said Saturday, Miss Loisinta Vou Pwol – a leading blogger in Nigeria’s Jos the capital of Plateau State had “convulsion” the night before, and was confirmed dead at a local hospital, morning.
Unnamed sources had said the blogger died from a heart attack. An admin of a pressure group to which the blogger belonged said he missed calls from her the night she reportedly died.
Miss Pwol, the publisher of The State of Plateau newsblog passed in the early hours of Saturday after a “very brief ill-health” according to Rev. Dr. Joseph Nyam, a family spokesperson.
Nyam in a statement described the incident as “shocking”. Her death has dealt a “thoughtless blow” on entire Plateau social media space, said the Plateau Bloggers Association.
She was among thriving female reporters in Plateau, said the association in a statement. Her performance was “legendary”, said the union statement issued by its Chairman, Friday Bako.
The Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong in a statement said Loisinta stood for “truth, justice, fairness and inclusivity”. “She embraced people from all works of life and did her best to promote peace and stability in Plateau State through her journalistic work,” said Lalong’s statement issued by the State Commissioner of Information, Dan Manjang.
Many top politicians have praised the late blogger for her courageous Journalism practice.
The blogger had an accident in May, shortly after she completed a Masters Degree in Accountancy.
Many believe her death to be linked to an undiagnosed internal injury sustained from the accident.
