21 Journalists have been recruited as media fellows for peace in Central Nigeria.
The Journalists recruited from Benue, Plateau and Nasarawa States will produce “relevant contents” that help to ‘demystify’ farmer-herder conflicts within their home states, Officials say.
The contents are expected to “breakdown stereotypes and biases, and promote positive narratives around farmer-herder collaborations, denounce rumours and de-escalate tensions that can fuel violence,” SFCG Senior Programs Manager, Mrs. Olutoyin Falade said, Tuesday.
The NGO will provide mentorship and coaching during the 12 months of the assignment, Falade said at the induction of the Fellows.
The Fellows comprise seven online, print and broadcast journalists each from the three target States.
