COVID-19: Plateau set to fumigate towns, villages

General fumigation of towns and villages in Plateau State against the dreaded Coronavirus disease will commence soon, officials say.
The fumigation, according to the State Commissioner for Environment, Usman Bamiyi idi will be done in collaboration with the State agricultural extension services which recently carried similar exercise in a Southern Plateau Local Government, Langtang North.
For a start, only streets and markets in Jos, the capital of the State, Idi told Journalists, Thursday will be fumigated.
The fumigation according to him became necessary to protect and Sanitize the state against possible outbreak of coronavirus.
The Environment Ministry will subsequently liaise with LGAs outside the city to carry out same exercise, he said.
The Commissioner however appealed to citizens to observe all provided guidelines to guard against the disease.
