Bluewhales transport company, headquartered in Central Nigeria’s Jos, the capital of Plateau State, Friday shared food reliefs to its “most loyal” customers.
Times are hard, said Mr. Simon Iliya, the Chairman, Bluewhales Group, but “we care about our customers and cannot turn a blind eye to their plights in this disturbing period (pandemic).”
“We want to encourage and appreciate them (customers) for standing with us through the years of our struggle, and to tell them that we are with them in any situation they are facing,” said Iliya through a representative, Nenrot Danjuma, at the relief distribution in Jos.
Bluewhales transport charges the least fares in Nigeria, maintaining about the lowest annual profit in the country.
However, it is the first in the road transport sector to donate directly to families during the coronavirus pandemic.
“Other companies are using this period to gain recognition by donating money to government. Others that are still able to operate are charging unbearably to makeup for their lost profit during the prolonged business shutdown. But you have decided to donate directly to solving the most crucial needs of customers. We are truly grateful,” Mrs. Grace Adams, a beneficiary said.
The company has held several customer appreciation programs in the past, and might just be starting.
As the Chairman of the transport giant puts it, “At the core of our existence is the customer and we will do everything to keep and appreciate them.”
Items distributed in the latest intervention include grains, noodles and among others, seasoning. All beneficiaries were visibly elated, taking the donation from the company.
