Plateau Officials discuss COVID-19 data management

Nigerian Bloggers and online Journalists have agreed to help government in Plateau State trace persons believed to have come in contact with COVID-19 cases in the State.

The new media men will also track and takedown wrong information regarding the virus, Officials say.

Last week Saturday in a meeting of government Officials, bloggers and online Journalists in Plateau, Secretary to Government of the State, Prof. Danladi Atu said fighting COVID-19 required multidisciplinary partnership.

The writers, he begged should create awareness on the disease and the efforts government is making to ensure public safety, while fighting misinformation on the disease.

Mr. Friday Bako, Chairman of the Plateau Bloggers and Online Media Association said the group had already been active in delivering prompt and credible information to guide public decisions on the virus.

He pledged the group’s sustained partnership with government in promoting public participation in governance.
