Coronavirus: Police seize 23 vehicles, 300 passengers violating Niger lockdown

The Niger State Police Command has impounded 23 cars, four tricycles and two motorcycles caught moving during the State’s lockdown.

281 people have equally been arrested for violating the lockdown, the Niger Commissioner of Police, Adamu Usman told Journalists, Tuesday.

The Commissioner appealed to political office holders to sensitize their constituents to adhere to government guidelines on the control of the disease.

Usman said the four main entry/exit points of Bida, Suleja, Kontagora, and Gwada roads will be barricaded to cut the influx of people and vehicles to the State during the lockdown.
