National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Osheomole says Nigeria has no regrets for closing its borders to imports.
The policy has revived local industries, thus improving national revenue, Osheomole said, Monday in Jos, the capital of Plateau State.
Weak local and foreign economic policies in the past turned Nigeria into a “dumping ground” for unwanted products, Osheomole said.
In his words, “We are not repentant of the closure of our borders until neighboring states realize that Nigeria is not dumping ground for smuggled goods.
“Whatever we have to do to get Nigerians patronise local goods should not be regretted.”
