APC won Plateau Assembly By-election through “Public Confidence” – Chairman

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Plateau State, Hon. Letep Dabang says the Party’s victory in Saturday’s by-election in Pengana constituency of Bassa Local Government Area, is a result of growing public confidence in the party.

The Party has maintained internal democracy, thus improving its chances during elections, Dabang said in a statement.

According to him, the Party was confident of victory in the by-elections knowing it was widely accepted in Pengana constituency.

The Chairman assured that the elected Parliamentarian will uphold inclusive representation and attract of development to the people based on the Party’s manifesto.

He said, “What Governor Lalong needs at moment is people who share in his vision to move the state forward and Hon. Yakubu Sanda is rightly placed and will kick the ground running immediately he is inaugurated into the State House of Assembly.”

The ruling All Progressives Congress Candidate (APC) Mr. Yakubu Jackson Sanda was declared winner of the just concluded Pengana State Constituency by-election, having scored 9,222 votes to defeat his closest rival, the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Yakubu Busa-buji, who got 7, 083 votes.

The elections were generally characterized by low turnout.
