64 almajiri kids who tested positive for Covid-19 in Niger State have recovered and reunited with their families, the state Commissioner of Health and Hospital Services, Dr. Mohamned Makusidi has said.

The Almajiris who tested positive were among 1075 screened for the virus, the Commissioner said.

A total of 1778 people have so far been tested in the state out of which 166 are positive.

However, no patient is currently in any isolation center in the State “because we have discharged most of them while few others have been transferred out for more medical attention,” said Makusudi.

He said that the state will soon complete its multi-purpose testing laboratory in Minna, making testing easier.

He appealed to citizens to always submit their dead relations for Covid-19 screening, for their safety and that of the general public.
