2020: Poverty, illiteracy, insecurity top Northern Governors’ priorities

The Nigerian Northern Governors Forum says it is committed to carrying out “robust initiatives” that will reduce poverty, illiteracy, diseases and insecurity in the region.

The forum in a press statement through its Chairman, Simon Lalong on Tuesday said it will maintain “peer review” and benchmark targets for regional development to achieve these goals.

“We shall continue to work closely with the Federal Government under the purposeful leadership of His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR to create synergy that is critical to achieving meaningful development of the Northern Region and the nation at large,” the Forum said.

The statement sought citizens’ collaboration with government to enable it succeed.
